How to make the perfect cup of tea
In our experience it is best to prepare yourself for the perfect cup of tea, that means preparing:
- 2 Porcelain / earthen wear tea pots
- Porcelain / earthen wear tea cups
- A Tea Strainer
- Good friends to share your tea
As the tea here on Tribalthailand.com is of such high quality we recommend that the appropriate effort be put into its brewing. In our experience it is easiest to brew our teas using 2 tea pots. The first tea pot contains the tea leaves and the hot water. From here strain the tea into a second tea pot which is heated so as not to lose any of the heat. From here you can pour the desired amount into individual cups and enjoy at your leisure. Having the tea leaves in the pot allows them room to expand improving the teas flavour.
A word on boiling, it is recommended that the water not reach boiling point in order to bring out the best aromas and flavours. Boiling water can damage the tea leaves and destroy the more subtle flavours that the teas from Thailand contain. Stop the kettle just before the bubbles get too frantic, this should give you the perfect temperature for your tea. If you want to be exact it is said that the water should be between 76 and 85 degrees Celsius so as not to impact the flavours of the tea.
